When we experience trauma our body and our brains go through very real changes. For some people the experience of the trauma does not create any longstanding struggles. For some, the impact of trauma can be life altering. Trauma therapy teaches you how to understand the signals that your brain is sending your body, and how to navigate the thoughts, feelings and body sensations when they occur.
This type of therapy explores how your thoughts, feelings and emotions are impacted by unconscious influences. In this work you explore the meaning behind your symptoms and struggles. You are encouraged to speak freely and to gain insight into what has been repressed or internalized. This work often requires more than one session a week.
This therapy involves principals of many different types of therapy, and can often look different from one therapist to the next. The therapist and the client work together to develop goals and a plan of action. The client shares their struggles and the clinician offers feedback to assist the client in gaining insight.
Narrative therapy help patients identify their values and the skills associated with them through storytelling. We all have the "stories" of our life and what we believe our part in it to be. What if you were able to tell your story a different way? What if you really are the hero? Narrative therapy allows you to learn new ways of living and dealing with life's problems.

Solution Focused Therapy is typically brief and future-oriented, goal directed approach to solving problems you may be facing in every day life. The focus is on the client's health rather than the problem, on strengths rather than weaknesses or deficits, and on skills, resources, and coping abilities that would help in reaching future goals.
Our therapy is focused on helping the client to feel comfortable in their authentic identity. We work towards self-acceptance.
Therapy doesn't have to be rushed. You can engage in therapy for as long as you need it. The process of becoming and living as your true self takes time to navigate and explore. You decide how much time you need.
We are self pay, which means we do not report to insurance companies. We provide a confidential environment where your story stays with your therapist. We will not speak to anyone without your explicit consent.
Your therapy doesn't have to be focused on your identity with gender or sexuality. Maybe you have done this work, and you now want an LGBTQ+ friendly therapist who also understands your mental health struggles and can help you navigate the impact on life and well-being.
We are able to provide therapy that is trauma informed. This means that we understand the way that trauma can effect an individual and relationships, and can help you to process how it may be impacting you.
We are trained and experienced in working with any type of intimate relationship where those involved are realizing they have issues they need to work through. Communication, honesty and trust are critical.
